The pages in the book on the Reporting Services Configuration Files do not include the changes from http:// to https:// which are included in the article on MSDN.  These changes seem to make sense.  I have two installations: one with no certificate when installed but added later, and one with certificate pre installed in IIS.  Oddly enough, the http to https changes were required in both; but the SecureConnectionLevel was correct in both (0 for former installation, 2 for latter installation).

anybody trying to use SSL certificates on the latest product?

When we get to the Collation Settings Screen,  we are getting the following message:

"SQL Server Setup failed to retrieve the SSL Certificate Name."

    OK?

and it exits...  no further information.

    SSL on 2005 RTM/GA

I have successfully managed to set up https on the latest (released) version of SQL 2005.

I followed the instructions given by Peter and Bill in their MSDN publication.

I had a "certificate authority" on another server in the domain (set up when I did SSRS 2000), I pointed tp that place, and it set up without a problem.

Oh, and I did this BEFORE I installed SQL Server 2005.

    Hope this helps.
