Chapter 13
Before building a Custom Data Processing Extension of your own, we strongly advise that you work methodically through the chapter building the EventLog Data Processing Extension. There are pitfalls and "gotchas" that are easy to fall into, especially in the area of parameters: the example took a development team a few man-days to iron out and get right.
Depending on your level of expertise, working through the example will take about 40 minutes and could save you many hours (not to mention days) of effort. Once you have built the example yourself and have it installed and working - understanding each step as you go - it is going to be a lot easier to then convert that code for your own purposes.
